For children up to, and including 5 years.

Our Under 5 sessions introduce your curious child to the soccer ball, while developing his/her physical literacy. Physical literacy provides your child with the tools they will need to build active and healthy habits, and sporting success.

Through our engaging developmentally appropriate games and creative activities, your child will be exposed to an array of soccer techniques such as kicking, shooting, ball control and dribbling; allowing them to become comfortable with the ball. As the sessions progress, your child will acquire basic skills familiarity with the ball, and the ability to work independently.

Characteristics of Coaching this Age Group

Fitness: Balance, walking, running, how to start and stop, jumping, rolling, skipping, changing directions, bending, twisting and reaching.

Technique: Dribbling (stop and start; change of direction) and shooting.

Psychology: Sharing, taking turns, fair play, "how to play" and emotional management.

Tactics: Where is the field? The concept of boundary lines, at which goal to shoot and playing with the ball wherever it may go.

Soccer School - Beginning June 4, 2022

Goals of the Training Program: 

To help players become more comfortable with the ball and understand the significance and need to improve their individual skill in order to become stronger players. 

Emphasis on:

  • Ball Mastery. The ability to manipulate the ball using all surfaces of both feet with comfort, confidence and creativity 
  • Dribbling with all parts of the foot, changing direction, stopping and turning
  • Passing/Shooting with both feet, using different parts of the foot
  • Receiving balls on the ground and in the air with different parts of the body
